David James Group Honored with Silver W³ Award
for Innovative Website

Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.—January 7, 2009—Oakbrook Terrace-based integrated marketing communications firm David James Group (DJG) recently received a Silver W³ award. The honor recognizes DJG for excellence in web design on an interactive website created to promote the outreach efforts of its client the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).

“When we approached this outreach site for SWE we knew we needed to create a site that would reflect the inventiveness of the engineering profession,” says Ron Zywicki, VP of Creative Services. “Aspire.swe.org, with its unique, engaging Flash-based navigation, vibrant color palette, hand-drawn icons and warm photos definitely captures that spirit.”

SWE’s K-12 outreach website, aspire.swe.org is an informative and interactive site for parents, educators, engineering professionals and girls in grades K-12 interested in engineering. The site has a cool look and fun feel, including an interesting side-to-side, Flash-based navigation. All elements combine to convey the exciting nature of engineering. The site, which launched in Spring 2008, has been instrumental in SWE’s efforts to support those who seek to get young people excited about the field of engineering.

The W³ Awards honor creative excellence on the Web and recognize the creative and marketing professionals behind award-winning websites, web videos and online marketing programs. Simply put, the W³ is the first major web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in between. The W³ is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts and is sponsored by Advertising Age, the Media Partner of the W³ Awards.
