Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-Based Marketing and Communications Agency Appoints Chicago Resident Brian Knier as Director of Strategic Development
Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.—January 09, 2008—Oakbrook Terrace-based marketing and communications agency David James Group (DJG) has appointed Chicago resident Brian Knier to the position of director of strategic development. Functioning in a dual role, Knier will also serve as the director of marketing for DJG client, Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
At DJG, Knier’s leading responsibility will be the strategic business development of new markets. He will also play a key role in the marketing activities of several DJG clients. In his primary role with SWE, Knier’s duties will include the development, execution and management of all aspects of SWE’s marketing program, recently outsourced to DJG.
Knier has more than 20 years of experience building and leading top performing teams focused on exceeding goals in the areas of sales, marketing and operations. Immediately prior to joining DJG, Knier co-founded the successful retail start-up company Public I, Chicago, where he worked as the vice president of marketing and operations. Knier’s background also includes the position of Director of Marketing for Panasonic Factory Automation Company. In this position, he pioneered global brand strategy, developed market plans and strategies, and launched the “Ideas for Life” brand campaign. Knier also held marketing positions with International Truck and Engine Corporation, Chicago, and Hendrickson International, Woodridge, IL.
Knier graduated from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, where he earned a bachelor of science in Business Administration. Knier resides in Chicago with his wife and daughter.
